Ortigas Eats: Moonshine P.U.B. x Public.Urban.Bar

We decided to have our Sunday lunch at a new restaurant a few steps from where we live. We wanted to have a little alcohol while the sun is up and after reading some good reviews about it, we checked and tried it for ourselves.

Moonshine PUB (Public Urban Bar) is located at Sapphire Bloc, a new condominium owned by Robinsons Residences, being built at Ortigas center Pasig.

This urban bar has a cozy yet stylish atmosphere. The interiors feature dark wood and brick walls, wine barrel table tops, rustic light fixtures, typography wall decals, and a variety of framed vintage photographs. It has an inviting vibe for anyone who is looking for a night out to unwind after work or a place to catch up with friends. In our case, our happy hour started at 1pm.

The Bar - where the potions are mixed
I am in love with the pendant bulbs

I can imagine a barkada dinner here!
A smorgasbord of options from beers to cocktails, brandy, champagne, wine, vodka, name it!
The wall decals delivered a polished touch
Loving every corner of this place
Here are some of the dishes from our lunch. All the dishes were served hot and the plating is just gorgeous.

We ordered two of their signature cocktails, Green Sting for me and Moonshine for Aldrin. Green Sting is vodka infused with basil, cucumber, and calamansi. It reminded me of a mojito but more refreshing than the ones I tried. The alcohol taste was faint but I got easily drunk with it. Moonshine is gin with Triple Sec and lemon. It tasted good too! I rarely drink beer so these cocktails are perfect for me. All in all they have nine different signature cocktails to suit your preference.

Green Sting - calamansi, cucumber, basil, vodka | Moonshine - lime juice, gin, triple sec (P190 each)
It has been a while since I had one of these

For our main dishes, we got the Baked Salmon to satisfy our current salmon addiction phase. It was partnered with potato wedges, French beans, cherry tomatoes, topped with cheese.

Roasted Salmon (P450)
Who can say no to salmon?
Bleu, Emmental, and Cheddar were the three cheeses combined on top of this soft dough. I could finish one of this by myself. I recommend asking for chili pepper flakes or hot sauce for this one.

Our taste buds were very happy
For dessert, we tried their Pandesal Pudding with choco chip ice cream, and beer caramel.
The choco chip ice cream complemented the warm pudding which brings a comforting gastronomic experience. You should eat it quickly so the pudding won't go cold. The beer caramel was an interesting addition. Next time I will try their DIY s'mores. I hope they expand their dessert choices in the future since currently they only have three.

Photogenic from all angles

Overall, the Moonshine PUB is an impressive place both as a restaurant and as a pub. The food and drinks were great at a reasonable price. I will definitely go back to try more items off their menu and bring some of my friends soon.
