Benefits of Tea - The Tea and Ukulele Bunch

I have always been a fan of tea more than coffee. I have been used to studying in a coffee shop with my usual Chai or English Breakfast Tea Latte. I just find it more relaxing and helpful when I study as compared to our good old coffee. The kick is not too strong compared with coffee but there is still that boost of energy enough to keep me going all throughout the day. The thing with coffee is that my body reacts weirdly to it - my eyes gets all sticky, I would experience mental blocks while reading, and I will be awake way way past my bedtime. I remember one time I was awake until 7 am when I drank a coffee jelly frappe from Starbucks. With that being said, I will always choose tea lattes over coffee as my study buddy.

Earlier this week, my workmates in one of my clinics and I decided to have a small tea break over ukulele cover songs. I tell you, the caffeine high is still on until 7 hours post tea break.

While we're at it, here are some benefits a small bag of tea can give us.

1. Tea contains antioxidants which help reduce the effects of aging. The main ingredient is called polyphenols which has antioxidant, detoxifying, and anti-inflammatory properties. It helps delay the onset of diseases by preventing the development of risk factors.

Fresh! Lakas maka-bagets pag naka-smile!
2. Due to its ability to reduce free radical formation and oxidative stress, they are being linked to prevention of heart diseases and stroke. Just remember to go easy on the sugar, though.
Guess which farm animals...
3. Increased focus and concentration - thanks to caffeine and L-theanine.
English Breakfast won over Earl Grey, three to one!
4. Tea contains a specific antioxidant called catechin which can help reduce cancer risk, thanks to its properties of inhibiting tumor formation and growth.

Cheers to more chismis and deep lunch talks!

So there you have it guys! So why don't you try having some cup of tea in the morning to start your day right. Remember to go easy on the sugar though!

Happy week everybody!
